This eagle Scout project was the installation of a tree growth ring display near the trailhead of the Shepherd Nature Trail in Duke Forest.

A portion of a 212 year old white oak was sliced through and markers were placed on the cross-section to show historic dates corresponding to the growth rings of the tree.
