This Eagle Scout project involved trail improvements at the Shepherd Nature Trail in the Duke Forest.

The initial switchback portion at the start of the nature trail was suffering from erosion due to misuse. Visitors were short-cutting the switchbacks at the beginning of the trail. This project involved the installation of railings to prevent visitors from short-cutting the switchbacks.
