The Edmond Armory's original purpose was to serve as the home of the 179th Infantry Regiment of the 45th Division. You can visit the overpass Memorial for the 179th near Waterloo and Broadway. Currently, the armory houses the Edmond Historical Society and Museum. It's a FREE museum, and filled with artifacts to showcase the history of Edmond. Lots of scout groups visit this museum, and it is located in Stephenson park, home of many other historically significant buildings.
