Opened in 1906, this is Dunedin's fourth train station. At the time of opening this was New Zealand's busiest train station handing about 100 trains each day. Today there is two tourist train departures and no passenger trains going to other cities.

The train station with its clock tower harkens back to the golden age of railway travel in New Zealand. Dunedin has the busiest train station when this station opened in 1906. Today there are no real passenger services connecting this city to elsewhere in the country. Just two tourist trains.
