[FR] La nécropole gauloise de Bucy-le-Long « la Héronnière-La Fosse-Tounise » située à 5km de Soissons a livré plus de deux cents trente sépultures. Compte tenu des destructions (exploitation de granulats en 1971) elle devait en compter trois à quatre cents s’échelonnant entre le Ve et le IIIe siècle avant notre ère. Quatre tombes illustrent de manière ostentatoire le sommet de la hiérarchie sociale de quelques individus. Il s’agit de tombes monumentales renfermant un char.
La spécificité ici est la présence exclusive de sépultures de femmes richement parées (torques et bracelets en bronze, pendeloques, boucles d’oreille et bagues en or). L’examen minutieux durant la fouille puis en laboratoire a permis de préciser l’architecture des tombes, les rituels funéraires, et la nature des véhicules hippomobiles et des harnais.
[EN] More than two hundred and thirty graves have been discovered at the gallic necropolis of Bucy-le-Long « la Héronnière-La Fosse-Tounise » situated 5km from Soissons. Considering that part of the site was destroyed by indusrial activity, there should hqve been originally between three and four hundred of them representing the third and fourth century BC. Four tombs illustrate in an ostentatious manner the peak of the social hierarchy of a few individuals. These are monumental tombs containing a wagon.
The site features the exclusive presence of the graves of women, wearing rich jewelry (bronze necklaces and bracelets, pendants, earrings, and finger rings of gold.) The meticulous examination during the excavation followed by that in the laboratory has allowed the identification of the architecture of the tombs, the funeral rites, and the nature of the horse drawn vehicles and the harnesses.
