William C. "Skinny" Johnson was born in Oklahoma. A 6'4" center, he was one of the tallest players of his time! He was a three-year starter for the University of Kansas (1929-1933) under Hall of Fame coach Phog Allen. Skinny was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1977. He excelled in both athletics and academics.
