Aranga Beach is the location of the trailhead to Maunganui Bluff/Maunganui Mountain, and is fairly remote. A small village is located near the beach (approximately 60 homes).

The beach and its surroundings are good for: Observing shells, also sunbathing, playing, walking, volleyball, bird watching.
Cars and dogs are allowed on the beach.
There are no groceries nor restaurants nearby.
There is a public toilet at the small parking area.
No Handicap facilities.
No Lifeguards on duty.
There are no rentals of cabanas nor chairs
Access is available all times of the day/year
