The piece is an illustration of Japanese American history in the United States.
It's describes as A "Bas-relief depicting the history of Japanese life in the United States, includes scenes of immigration, internment during World War II and current Japanese-American life. Text panels include documents ordering internment, a map of the camp, a list of the camps and historical background on all aspects of Japanese-American life."
The panel is doubled sided and sits by the 2nd St entrance to the federal building.
The plaque reads: "The memorial is dedicated to the Japanese- Americn interned in relocation camps during World War II (1942-1945.
