This tank locomotive is on perminent display at Quaker Square in downtown Akron. No information is presented about the locomotive, but it probably is supposed to resemble "Thomas the Tank Engine." It is reported that this is a 0-4-0 24" gauge locomotive built by Gruen & Bilfinger. Quaker Square was originally the mills of the Quaker Oats Company transformed into shops in 1975, followed by a hotel in the grain bins in 1981. Most shops are now closed and the whole complex was sold to the University of Akron in 2008. Most of the hotel is now used as dorms.
