The inventory describes it as: "An abstract sculpture set in a fountain. Stepping stones lead to a portal-shaped main section near the center of the sculpture. Four stepping stones are on the one side of the portal and three stepping stones are on the other side. There is a ball, possibly made of metal, near the portal."
There a plaque next to the fountain which reads: "Omaggio a Tempo "Homage to Time" sculpture by Salvatore Pecoraro (sic)June 2, 1989 Omaggio a Tempo was commissioned by the city of Sunnyvale in 1988-89 as part of its master plan for public art. The artist has used the architectural elements in the sculpture to refer to both eastern and western cultures. The sculpture is a tribute to aging and the passage of time."
