Horní (Jemnická) brána / Upper (Jemnice) Gate was originally a part of the town's Gothic fortification system. But it was substantially rebuilt in the end of the first half of the 16th century in Renaissance style.
The gate is two-storey rectangular building, the Renaissance attic with battlements and turrets were removed in 19th century. The gate's facade is covered by letter-shape Renaissance graffiti. Passage in the ground level is barrel vaulted and on it's town's side you can find semi-circular arc with the stone coat of arms of Vaclav Oesterreicher dated 1552.
