Description: A uniformed Civil War soldier stands atop a tall, square shaft, holding the barrel of his rifle with both hands at chest level, the stock resting by his proper right foot. The soldier wears a field hat, with a pouch strapped to his proper right waist. The shaft is mounted upon a square, multitiered, stepped, lower base adorned with a relief of crossed flags on the front. Cannonballs rest on each corner of a tier of the lower base.
