Although always at this same address, the sculpture was formerly owned by the First National Bank. First National was taken over by various banks, ending with its acquisition by NationsBanks. The building was sold and the Bank no longer owns or administers the work. More recently NationsBank changed it name to Bank Of Amreica after the merger of the two companies.
The setting has been significantly altered since it was installed in 1961. Originally the setting included trees, plantings, and natural stone. It is now a bricked plaza area. The plantings and original 15 individual boulders were removed.
