The piece stands about 15 ft high behind the Santa Clara city hall. It's covered in little pieces of tile, which form the images of children.
The plaque reads: "Universal Child by Beniamino Bufano Made from stainless steel, cast stone and mosaics. Mosaics were all individually cut by the sculptor in Rome, Italy. All nationalities are represented by children of all countries in the world. Bufano believes the children will lead the world to peace. May 1965."
