The Carroll County courthouse, constructed from Berea sandstone in 1885, replaces a brick structure built in 1835. The bell in the tower is from the original brick courthouse. Today, after adding a modern addition for the sheriff’s department, the courthouse remains fully functional with its 19th century charm and craftsmanship intact. It has been used as a courthouse from 1885 - present
