Along the long and winding Thai/Cambo border there are many small and dusty border checkpoints. This is one such. It serves two main purposes. First, like all such crossings there is a casino for Thais to visit, and give their money away. Second, for farlang (westerners) to cross the border into Cambodia on a 'visa run' and return, in order to get a new or re-activated Thai visa.
This latter is accomplished in seven hours from Pattaya, six hours on the bus and an hour plus 'doing the paperwork', however, the paperwork is done for you by the staff of the tour company, while your 'visit' to the Cambodian immigration checkpoint is accomplished as you are driven past in your mini-van on your way to either the casino or duty free shops to buy cheap nicotine and/or booze. Your choice. A bit of a joke.
The waymark is the Thai immigration building. It is several hundred metres inside the Thai border. I could not find a name for the road leading to the border, it is a small, paved road from the main highway following the Thai border. No facilities on the border checkpoints, nor on the Thai side of the border.
