The old station was demolished when the Calgary Tower complex was constructed in 1968. Only the station platforms were left, and are still in use. Today the only passenger trains using this station belong to train tour operators, including the Rocky Mountaineer (visit link) and the Royal Canadian Pacific (visit link) The national passenger train system of Canada, VIA Rail, does not serve Calgary. The station is located in a tunnel created by the construction of a parking garage over the top of the main line of CP Rail.
