A pier at Point Lookout State Park is open 24 hours for fishing. Some of the popular species are hardhead, blues, rockfish, trout, and striped bass. The pier is handicap-accessible with parking available. A Chesapeake Bay Sport Fishing license is required for anyone over 16.
Fees to enter the park apply. On weekends and holidays during the summer, it is $5/person for MD residents and $6/person for out-of-state residents. All other times, it is $3/vehicle for MD residents and $4/vehicle for out-of-state residents. Anyone with an active military I.D. is exempt. Night fishing is from sunset to 6 AM. (Please note that only active anglers are allowed in the state park at night. All others must leave, since Point Lookout officially closes at sunset.)
There are concessions and a camp store available in the park for fishing supplies, bait, fishing licenses, and refreshments. (During the off-season, these may not always be open.)
