The actual City Hall is located at 50 W. 13th St. This building houses the Council Chambers and other City Offices.

DUBUQUE - A major renovation project is wrapping up in Dubuque. That means a new home for City Council meetings and relief for some cramped city employees. Its close quarters inside Dubuque's Housing Department.
Housing Employee Jodi Heim said, "We bump into each other at the copy machine a lot. High demand at the copy machine."
Desks are shoved together and files have taken over the conference room. So the City Council came up with a plan to move the department into the top floor of the Post Office building.
Dubuque Mayor Roy Buol said, "The federal government had the building for sale. They offered it to the city for a dollar. We made the decision that it'd be a great location for some city offices."
This is a sneak peak at the inside of the building after a three point one million dollar renovation. Crews repaired intricate details on the ceiling and the marble walls. Buol said, "Just the general setting its a great space. They've done a great job restoring historically, they've done it in a great way."
Later this month Mayor Buol and the City Council will begin holding their meetings in this space that use to be a courtroom. And for housing employees, they'll be a lot more room at the copy machine.
