The well-laid granite walls boast extremely fine Bayfield brownstone trim from Wisconsin (the same stone used on New York's famed Fifth Ave.). The building once house a Norman clock tower, as well as fourth-story gables, and heavy stone cornice, all of which were destroyed in the earthquakes of 1935. Theses adornments, of little use during the Depression Era, were never replaced but still the building stands on its own with a grand sense of grandeur.
