From the sign:
Ohio Buckeye Tree
(Aesculus glabra)
This majestic 150 year old Ohio Buckeye is thought to have been planted by Ben Fuller in the 1800's.
It is the largest of its species registered in the United States.
It is over 150 years old with a 73' height, 176' trunk circumference. For comparison, a normal Buckeye tree is 30 to 50 feet tall. McDonalds required the hotel to be built a safe distance away to protect the tree’s root system. The tree is fertilized and watered regularly, and cared for by arborists.
