Long Description:
Mark Richey Woodworking manufactures and installs interior wood building products. This 292-foot Elecon 600 KW wind turbine, installed in January 2009 provides electricity to their manufacturing facility. The Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust issued a grant which covered part of the cost. A sample of their philosophy, from their website: "Mark Richey Woodworking follows environmentally sensitive manufacturing methods and is committed to sustainable practices." Their facility also reprocesses woodchips and sawdust from the manufacturing area in a biomass furnace, which heats 80,000 square feet. Also, the sales and technical reps drive hybrid vehicles. I applaud their dedication to the environment! This wind turbine is visible from miles away. It can be seen clearly from the Salisbury Beach campground across the Merrimack river.
