Hamburger University was founded in 1961 by Fred L. Turner, McDonald’s former senior chairman and Founder Ray Kroc’s first grillman. The facility trains over 5000 McDonald's restaurant managers, mid-managers and owner/operators each year, from all over the world.
McDonald's training for Managers is now recognized as college-level course work, eligible for credits that can be transferred to colleges and universities (both private and public) and applied toward a 2 or 4-year degree.
Hamburger University is a 130,000-square foot facility on an 80-acre campus. 19 full-time professors with restaurant operations expertise - from around the world - deliver the McDonald’s training curriculum.
