This is a civil war memorial in Melchoir Park. Its a simple monument one plaque, set in stone, in a small pocket park. Take Rt.30 north from Johnstown into Gloversville. After leaving Johnstown you'll be looking for Kingsboro Ave (2 or 3 lights outside of johnstown). Take a right onto Kingsboro Ave. and stay on ths until you see South Park Street. This is a One Way in and One Way out park so please remember to take South Park street in. This is a very narrow and long park so keep your eyes open. The park will be on your right. Out in front is a small fountain that is in the middle of some flat, rounded colored slate and the whole circle is lined with brick on it side.
