Zimmer's Gloves - Gloversville, N.Y., U.S.A. - Ghost Signs on Waymarking.com

Gloversville has a few ghost signs so I'll try to do a Gloversville Ghost series. My first G-ville ghost is the Zimmer's Gloves. I've only found one webpage with info on this building and it was just a bit about G-ville's past and a pic of this sign. The coords will get you to the easiest parking spot for 2 ghost signs. The name of the city is due to the fact that the glove business was the biggest in the U.S. and stayed that way for over 60 years. From the 1880's to the 1950's this town was booming. Gloversville has been on a downward spiral since the 1950's and only in recent years has shown some improvements. Some of the old buildings are now being re-built and it may once again be a great place to visit. Its worth the drive around just to see the older buildings and ghost signs.
