Considered by many as "the greatest individual fan in the history of Pitt State Athletics," Overman has served as an ambassador of good well and as an ardent supporter of PSU Athletics throughout the last eight decades.

The Pittsburg native served as a yell leader at his alma mater from 1936-39, before becoming Pitt State's student body president in 1940. Overman returned to campus from the private sector in 1951 to serve as the director of PSU's Student Center, which was renamed in his honor by the Kansas Board of Regents following his retirement in 1984.

Overman has been involved in many campus committees throughout the years, including his ongoing role as a PSU Foundation Board Trustee, and he's been a permanent fixture at Gorillas sporting events throughout the years.
