Horseshoe Meadow is one of the most popular trailheads in the Southern Sierra, offering easy access to the backcountry due to its relatively high elevation starting point (10,000+ feet).
Bear boxes and restroom facilities are nearby, as well as, a walk in campground and corals for equestrian users.
The road to the trailhead, while steep and windy, is paved the entire way.

Trail allowances or restrictions: Wilderness Permits are required for the majority of hiking out of Horseshoe Meadow and can be obtained in the nearby town of Lone Pine.
