Smith Alley
Belived to have been named for Willis H. Smith who foned a successful harness and saddlery firm in 1896. H furnished harnesses, known for their simplicity and elegance, to prominent Pasadena businesses and families. He also furnished equipment to the livery of the Raymond Hotel, perhaps the finest of Pasadena's early grand resort hotels. He also was a partner in the Troy Laundry, which was established in 1898 as one of the first commercial laundries in town.
