The Cottonwood Trail is 1.5 mile, rustic wood chip trail. It is located at the end of Lobo Lane.
There are two trail heads that hikers can access; the first is located across the street from the Cottonwood Sports Complex. The second is located at the end of Hardwick Lane. Starting at either trail head, hikers can navigate the entire trail system and numerous lake access points.
The trail guides hikers through one of the most pristine park areas. This trail is heavily canopied along the lake, leading into an open field of cedar trees.
Hikers have been so impressed with the new trail system that the Little Elm Festival Association has donated $10,000 for trail improvements, signage and rustic benches.
