Access cover for sanitary sewer southeast of pedestrian bridge over Beaver Creek in Beaver Creek Linear Park, York, Nebraska.
Waymark Code: WM73AK
Location: Nebraska, United States

Locally produced cistern cover used on access manhole where sanitary sewer crosses Beaver Creek. The sewer line is exposed where it crosses the creek, except during periods of high water. This manhole and its companion on the other side of the creek mark the sewer line's transitions from concrete or vitrified clay tile to cast iron pipe.

Beaver Creek Linear Park's hiking / biking trail system passes both sides of this manhole.

There are other varieties of YORK FOUNDRY covers on a manhole about a block further west, in Harrison Park, and at other points along this sanitary sewer trunk line.

York Foundry produced a variety of utilitarian objects, and at least one set of cast iron building columns.

To reach this location from Interstate 80, come in to York, go west on Nobes Road, and north on Kingsley. There is parking on the west side of Kingsley at the entrance to the hiking / biking trail system.
