This mosaic features an eclectic menagerie of wildlife with various fauna and flora in a variety of habitats including land and sea. There is a "picture" of Rachel Carson and Wangari Maathai, two renown women environmentalist. Also featured, besides a large-tusked elephant is George Washington Carver, an agricultural pioneer. All in all, it sends a clear message that we are responsible for maintaining the beauty and the sanctity of our fragile planet.
NetworkArts is responsible for this and the other mosaic around the corner wall. They are into placing mosaics around Philadelphia and have been doing so for quite time. There is even a beautiful mosaic by this company in my school. This waymark is actually featured first and very prominently on their home page HERE
