NGS Benchmark: LY0391 Pompton Lakes, NJ - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

This is a Bench mark disk that was set in a rock formation beside the Susquehanna and Western railroad near the crossing of the Erie railroad in 1942 though the disk is stamped with 1933 (see close up picture). The Susquehanna line is used a couple of times a day and the Erie line was deactivated years ago. This is an under used track but it is active so use caution. Do not walk on the railroad track.
Park at the end of Montclair Av : coords N 41° 00.311 W 074° 17.950.
