To get here take Rt.5 all the way to Amsterdam. Just stay on Rt.5 until you see a sign on your left by the river that says Guy Park 1766. And make your left across the train tracks and into lock 11 where you'll find Guy Park Manor. There's quite a bit going on in this park. From here you can get several different waymarks, 2 geocaches, fishing, watch the boats, come down during canalfest, picnic, and explore some history. Definitely bring your family and friends and a camera. a nice spot along the river to have a picnic. My WM Tree Monster is in the picnic area. Just a nice spot to kick back and relax on a hot summer day. Guy Park Manor was built by Sir William Johnson for his daughter Molly and her husband Guy Johnson in 1766 or was it built in 1773? There seems to be a bit of conflicting info between the internet and the history sign out in front of the building. If anyone can clear this up for me so I can post the truth I'd greatly appreciate it. Look at that a little history, mystery, hunting session for you history buffs out there. There's plenty of room to explore and who knows maybe you can log your visit with a pic of a big walleye, northern pike, catfish, freshwater drum. You never know what you're going to catch. Most of all Have Fun & Happy Waymarking, Swizzle & Family
