According to an informational plaque nearby, this red telephone box dates back to 1926. It is a K2, Mark I, manufactured by the Carron Foundry in Stirlingshire, Scotland. It cost an estimated $75 and is made of cast iron and glass and weighed over a ton. The outside was painted vermillion red and the inside flame red. There is a phone inside, but it does not work.
Kentuck Knob is a house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for I.N. Hagan. Hagan sold the house to British businessman Peter Palumbo in 1986. As a result, there are several artifacts from Great Britain scattered throughout the grounds.
