The Waipawa Municipal Theatre, situated in the old Town Hall, is the home of Waipawa's Musical and Dramatic Society which have been performing in Waipawa since 1898.

Waipawa Municipal Theatre dates back to the early 1900s, and has been described as a jewel in the crown of the district. It has a raked stage and an elegant gallery, and has been described as a 'mini Drury Lane'. The theatre is a popular venue for functions and is well-utilised by the Waipawa Musical and Dramatic Society for their shows. Originally they performed in the Oddfellows Hall, but on 17th March, 1910 they celebrated the opening of the new theatre by performing 'Betsy'.

The old Waipawa Town Hall consists of two parts, a concert hall and main hall. The concert hall has carpeted floor and a small stage, it has access to the kitchen with a servery hatch, seats 100 people for a meal, both halls have access to the bar facilities. The main hall seats 170 persons and has a wooden floor with a large stage and an upstairs auditorium Total number for whole hall 270 people seated. Maximum number of persons permitted is 440, including seating upstairs.
