Adams State used to be the "Indians", but were re-named the Grizzlies in 1997. This statue is in front of the Gymnasium. "Old Mose", according to April 2004 Outdoor Life Magazine, was the most famous grizzly in their publication, and the most dreaded in the U.S. He was killed in 1904, and weighed 1300 pounds.
