We couldn't find any information about this well, and it is definitely not one of the tourist spots.
It is located next to the main road through Oak Creek Canyon. However, it appears to be something only 'locals' know about. When we lived in Flagstaff (about 15 miles north), we used to come down here with our water containers and fill them up just like the guy in the picture is doing. We never heard of any tests for water quality at this well. However, in the many years of drinking it, we never got sick and it always tasted so good. Good enough to drive 15 miles to get it!
The water exits the ground through the Kiabab Limestone Formation. The water continually flows out of the two pipes as seen in the picture.
