Fine school building, still in use, as a junior high school. Was easy to locate and photgraph. I found a really nice, brief history from the Jr. high's website. located here. The first Franklinton High School building on Main Street, Franklinton, Louisiana, burned in February of 1938. For the remainder of the school year, classes were held in the Fair Ground buildings, and graduation was held on the Fair Ground Stage.
The current school building was finished in 1939, and the first class to graduate in the new building was the class of 1939-40. Mr. N.L. Smith was the principal of the high school during this time.
The Franklinton High School building is now Franklinton Junior High School.
