The bell tower was a gift of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Completed in 1953, the tower and its carillon are living memorials dedicated to the memory of General George Washington. The Carillon consists of 58 tuned bronze bells representing all states and U. S. territories. It is one of the world's largest.

Schedule of regular public performances:
Every Sunday morning throughout the year, one half hour before and one half hour after the 10:00 am Sunday Service. Every Sunday afternoon in June through September. Four 20 minute mini-concerts are played at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 pm. Summer Carillon Series Every Wednesday in July and August at 7:30 pm, hour-long concerts are played rain or shine.
