West View Missionary Baptist Church was organized in 1930. The church began as a community church composed of four denominations: (1) Missionary Baptist (2) Primitive Baptist (3) Northern Methodist (4) Southern Methodist. Eventually the other denominations moved out and the Missionary Baptist in 1935 paid the debt of $3,200 owed for materials in construction. Most of the labor was done by volunteers.

The building was completely remodeled over the years and in August 1970, the church occupied a new sanctuary and Sunday School rooms. The old building is still used as pastor and secretary offices, library, printing room, Sunday School rooms, and other facilities. The sanctuary will seat over 500 people.
