WGRM Radio Studio - Greenwood
Before the 1950s, relatively few African American voices were heard on the radio. A major exception was live broadcasts of performances by gospel groups. During the 1940s this building housed WGRM, which featured gospel music on Sundays. One of the most popular groups was the Famous St. John's Gospel Singers of Inverness, Mississippi, which included Riley "B.B." King on guitar.
Upstairs now houses the Greenwood Blues Hertiage Museum and Gallery and is devoted to the life, music and tragic death of Robert Johnson.
