Sociology/Psychology Building, Duke University, "Dawson's Creek" - Movie Locations on Waymarking.com

In summer of 2001, the cast and crew of Dawson's Creek descended on Duke University in Durham to shoot scenes for Season 5. The series was set in New England, but production was actually based in Wilmington, NC.

In Season 5, Dawson, Joey, Jen and Pacey have graduated from high school. Joey (Katie Holmes) has left Capeside for Boston and an "Ivy League School." (Think Harvard.)

Duke University's West Campus has architecture that makes it a good match for an Ivy League college in New England. Rather than travel all the way to Massachusetts, the cast and crew made the three hour drive from Wilmington to Durham to shoot some scenes.

This episode was the first episode of Season 5 and is titled "The Bostonians". It originally aired on The WB on October 1, 2001.

The scene pictured was shot at the Sociology/Psychology Building at Duke. In this scene Katie Holmes ("Joey") has just tried to see her professor, but finding a long line of students at the professor's door, she leaves the building.
