Spring Hill is a residential neighborhood nestled atop a hill, fringed by other hills on the North Side such as Troy Hill and Fineview.

It was originally settled by german immigrants in the late 1800s.

The inscription on the granite stone reads:

Spring Hill - City View
War Service Leage
This Memorial dedicated
in honor of the Men and Women
who served our country
in WOrld War II
1941 - 1945

When we pass this sacred shrine,
may each thank God
for liberty divine,
Some gave their lives
the sacrifice supreme,
while others served and won
the world's esteem,
and may this holy shrine
when storms appear,
lift up our eyes to God
who helps us here !
