The Bell's Past: 1909 - 1931
St. John The Divine Anglican Church, Byng Inlet
St. John the Divine Anglican Church was built in May 1909 to serve the lumber mill village of Byng Inlet, ontario. The Bishop of Algama, the Right Reverend George Thorneloe(1846 - 1935) consecrated the church on August 25, 1912. Following the closure of the Graves, Bigwood lumber mill, the church was dismantled after its final service, May 1, 1931. The furnishings incclued the bell were transferred to the Cowley Fathers for use in their new chapel in Bracebridge.
