Franklin County's only covered bridge is the recently restored Switzer Bridge.

The Switzer Bridge is a 120' Howe truss built in 1855 over the North Fork of Elkhorn Creek. It was restored in 1906 by Louis Bower and closed to traffic in 1954. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. It was restored again in 1992 Wood & Wood Builders before being severely damaged by a March, 1997 flood. It was rebuilt in 1998 by INTECH Engineering.

Description of Covered Bridge: 120' Howe truss. Recent restoration resulted in changes to the roof overhang, shelter panels, fascia and roof pitch.
