The Victorian is an 1854 homestead built in an Italianate architectural style. It was renovated in 2004 by AIDS Community Services of Western New York, and is one of the oldest original homesteads remaining intact in the core of downtown Buffalo. Located at 200 South Elmwood Avenue, the house was saved from demolition by ACS. For 50 years it had served as a flophouse in what used to be a shady neighborhood of Buffalo. It stood vacant for eight years before ACS purchased it and had been vandalized numerous times in this period.
