This would qualify as the Philadelphia capitol of tourist attractions as this is the hub of the city activity. Without this place, most tourists would never figure out what to do and probably get lost in trying!

Inside this attraction, visitors can buy tickets to the attractions listed on the gophilly tourism page. The best part is you can do this without standing in line. There are guides, some dressed in period garb (colonial) who can have a quick history lesson so you know what you are about to see along Independence Mall. You can also make hotel or dinner reservations as well as find some food and drinks. We had to go here for the "Ride the Ducks" attraction. They were very nice and very accommodating.
Inside is absolutely humongous with all sort and manner of education displays which tell the story of the nation's independence. This is the "companion" facility which compliments and supports the Independence National Historical Park. Hours of operation, listed below, are for the Welcome Center.
They are open seven days a week, currently from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm. In September, they are open from 8:30 am to 6 pm. From October through February, they are open from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. From Memorial Day to Labor Day they are open from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm.
The posted coordinates are for the North 6th Street Entrance.
