Long Description:
The Indian Museum of the Carolinas has many artifacts and exhibits for the visitor to see. If you are expecting to see just arrow points then you are in for a treat. It is much more than arrow point collections. There is a dugout canoe that was found in a local lake after it was drained. "The permanent collection contains more than 200,000 authentic artifacts, including pottery, jewelry, clothing, tools, and weapons, making it possible to get a cross-section of entire cultures including their approaches to medicine, religion, customs, and daily life." ( ). Occasional traveling exhibits are on display highlighting Native American life and culture. It is also more than just the past also. There are exhibits of art from local Native American artist
Native American history and artifacts.
