This multi landing stairway replaces the old trail between the gymnasium and the student residence area.

Students, being students, had blazed a rough trial down the hillside between the gym and dorm buildings. This trail was rather dangerous, and had caused several injuries. In addition, the hillside was eroding. This stairway was the solution. To have it match the natural contours of the slope as much as possible, there are several landings built in.
