This windmill is located on the outside edge of the new recreational area Wulven in Houten, just to the southeast of Utrecht.

It is used to maintain a proper water level in the area, which to all intents and purposes is a polder, although this is on the eastern edge of the area where such polders are common: further to the east, the ground level is above seal level and polder pumping is not necessary.like
